Jessica persistently called her mother, and after the fourth ring, she finally answered.

"Hello, my child, how are you?" Jessica was a bit shocked to speak. Had her mother intentionally ignored her calls? She wondered.

"Hello, Jess, are you there?" Rebecca said, breaking the silence.

"Yes, Mother, I am here," Jessica replied in a daze. "I actually thought something was wrong when you didn't answer my calls after it rang four times."

"Oh, that... I was actually looking at my phone ring and dancing to the melodious tune until the fourth ring," Rebecca chuckled.

"That isn't fair, Mum. Why did you do that?" Jessica quizzed. Rebecca, who was sitting on the sofa, stood up and walked to her balcony. Leaning comfortably on the rail, she said, "Well, my child, next time when I call you, you will pick up on time."

Jessica smiled, noticing that her mother was now strong and in good spirits to the extent that she was making jokes.
