Chapter 46 - Realisation

Theo POV

“Please, no”, I beg of my father as I feel the whip slam against my bare back. Tears flooded down my face. My breathing was heavy. I close my eyes as I feel it touching my skin in the back. My skin opens, giving room to open wounds. I shiver in pain, hugging my knees against my chest when it stops. I keep my eyes down.

“You are my greatest disappointment; how can I even call you my son?”, Father shouts at me. I see him standing in front of me. His well-polished brown shoes point at me like a threatening weapon. “You disgust me”, he says before he kicks me on the chin, and I fall back. I feel the blood streaming.

“Go get your back sorted with the nurse”, he says. The nurse is a nice old lady, and she gives me chocolate every time I walk in there with wounds that I can’t tell her how I got. I think she knows, but she obviously doesn’t say anything. After all, my father is the right hand to the Ir
