Alexander and Athena stared at three of the men. They had already found the culprit but out of anger, Athena had asked that they locked the three men up. Tomorrow was going to be the day of execution and the culprit would be called out. The men had been thrown into the dungeon as Athena had commanded and after that, she had called for a meeting with the cabinet members. Damien sat beside her as usual but on her other side was Alexander so she was flanked by the two men. Damien had been silent and only speaking when he was asked to. He never made any suggestions whatsoever. "We have to fortify the building. Human technology isn't enough," Jayman said. Jayman was the new minister for security and he had been appointed by Athena. "And what is your suggestion, Jayman?" Athena asked in her authoritative voice. "I suggest that we include spiritual means into this whole security of a thing. The walls, electricity and cameras are not enough. We need some sort of magi
The meeting had ended in a heated argument and Alex had left angrily. He walked out of the hall angrily as he thought about why a bunch of old stupid men were chosen to be cabinet members. It was absolutely ridiculous and he was going to speak to Athena about it after the meeting. She needed young blood mixed with a few older men who knew what progress meant. Shaking his head, he took the steps up the first floor. He was so deep in thought that he didn't see one of the maids coming down the steps with a pile of laundry that covered her face. The clash was disastrous as the tall pile of clothing fell down the steps. The maid lost footing but Alexander was quick to grab her by the waist to stop her from stumbling down the stairs. "Oh my goodness!" The lady squeaked as she grabbed Alex's arms for support. "I'm sorry, I didn't see you coming," Alex said as he stood her up properly. "Kali?" He recognized her from her sheer green eyes and plump lips he had enjoyed kissi
Ciara decided that after having lunch with Heyli, she needed to show the little girl around while also taking a walk to stretch her legs. She hadn't seen Daniel all afternoon and it seemed like he was really busy so she decided that spending a little time with Heyli wasn't a bad thing after all. After lunch, both women took a walk around the garden and Ciara almost bled her ears out from listening to Heyli gush about the beauty of the garden. The next place she took Heyli to was the training grounds. "This place is where warriors train?" Heyli asked. "That's smart of you,"Ciara commended. She made sure to sprinkle compliments here and there. Heyli seemed to have been starved of it from a young age and it was a way to build her confidence. "This is where warriors train every morning and evening. They're all gone to their duty posts. The first set trains in the morning while the second set does the morning shift and vice versa. They also interchange. Would you like to join?"
From where Damien stood talking with Daniel, they heard the piercing scream come from inside the palace. Damien's ears perked up immediately. "That's King Athena," Daniel said. "I have to go." Damien said quickly and hurried off. Daniel followed after him. Alex was also speaking with Kali when he heard her scream and immediately, he left the garden and bounded up the steps, his destination, Athena's chambers. When he got to her door, he began knocking but there was no response. He kept on knocking till he got tired and pushed the door open. Athena was standing in front of the shattered pieces of glass before her vanity table. Her hands were wrapped around her slender frame as she stared at the pieces of glass. "Athena?" Alex said as he slowly moved towards her. "Don't come close to me. Just leave," Athena said in a firm voice. She sounded pissed. "I need to explain things to you, please. Just listen to me this one time." When she turned to
Heyli was standing before an impressive man. Even on his seat, she knew he was a tall, intimidating man. Harrison had taken her to his office before leaving and she stood there for about two minutes before he finally gave her attention. "Why haven't I ever seen you here in Antarti?" The man asked as he studied her small frame. He had pinched lips and the most intimidating set of brown eyes she had never seen. Somehow, she saw the strictness of her father in this man. Heyli moved from one foot to another as she thought about what to say. She decided that lying was going to save her. She'd have to tell Ciara about it. "I'm related to Queen— King Athena!" Heyli said and blushed in embarrassment as she corrected herself. The man raised a brow at her as he wrote down something in a book. He sighed and leaned back on his chair before speaking. "What do you say is your name again?" "Heyli." "Just that?" Heyli nodded and fiddled with the hem of her shirt
Ciara stood to her feet. "You know that's not possible," Alex shrugged and watched Ciara go into the palace before standing to his feet and bounding down the porch steps, his destination, the dungeon. Ciara found Athena sitting in the sunroom. Athena seemed to want her own privacy at this time but Ciara had no option than to disrupt it. Athena felt another presence beside her and immediately turned to see Ciara standing at the door with an envelope in her hand. "Come in, will you?" Athena said with a welcoming voice. Ciara nodded and did as she was told. Athena gestured for her to take a seat and Ciara did so. Both women smiled awkwardly at each other. "What brings you here?" Athena asked as she sipped from her cup of tea. Ciara slid the golden envelope across the table over to Athena who took it and felt the texture of the envelope. She rubbed the edges and her fingers ran over the seal before she looked up to Ciara who was waiting for her to say som
Before Heyli could turn to go back in, Athena saw her. "Heyli?" Heyli turned slowly and her expression held uncertainty. She stood by the door until Athena spoke again. "Come over here," Heyli did as she was told. She walked to where Athena sat and bowed in respect. "Take a seat." Heyli took a seat beside Athena but there was a lot of space left between both women. Athena said nothing afterwards. She watched the junior team train and Heyli did the same. Heyli watched young boys and girls of her age pair with each other and duel. They were all taller and bigger than she was. And here she was, looking like a fifteen year old girl. Her eyes caught Harrison talking with a girl with blond hair and the girl seemed to be smiling but that's none of her business. "You want to join the junior warrior team?" Athena asked suddenly. Heyli jerked. She hadn't been expecting that question. Swallowing, she nodded. "Why?" Heyli thought for a while
No one had ever seen such a thing before. They ran with inhuman speed. Infact, they could not be seen as they moved but they ended up appearing before you and snarling with the ugliest green eyes before tearing you apart like you were bread just taken out of the oven. No one understood what was happening. No one saw them coming or going so it was easy to die. Crescent Pack had their gates located directly before the major roads people frequented and their guards had seen the sudden cacophony as people were thrown out of their cars and trucks. They watched people's throat slash and blood spill but they couldn't see what they did it. Not until they spotted a hideous looking being tearing off fleshes and devouring did they know that something was wrong. Immediately, their commander was alerted and a quick mail was sent to Antarti to inform them about their guests being attacked. Their commander asked them to back down in order to know what was attacking as
