"Shh," Alex said calmly. His voice had thinned to a whisper and his fingers had successfully pushed her coat open that her milky skin showed. He seeped in a breath.

"You're so beautiful, Athena." Alex whispered.

Athena was still throughout the whole ordeal. She knew she should push him away and call him selfish for trying to make a sick woman fall for his temptations but at the same time, she didn't want him to stop. She wanted him to continue what he was doing.

Her skin tingled and she felt shivers run down her spine. How could one man make her feel a thousand emotions at the same time?

Involuntarily, her eyes closed and she leaned back.

Alex's hand cupped the side of her neck and brought her cheek to his lip so that his breath fanned against her cheek. The feeling was out of this world but ephemeral...

He withdrew and shook his head like he was clearing a spell off his head.

"I'm so sorry, Athena," Alex said and moved away from her. He began to stac
