Rieka’s POVA sense of deja vu washes over me as I sit here quietly, listening to the Fates relay a story from long ago. Something about the story seems familiar to me, causing me to feel deep sadness within my soul.An image begins to play out in the open space of the bedroom floor, startling everyone in the room. Kenji’s POV“Is Rieka okay?” Levi asks Jamari, pulling her in for a bear hug.She looks up at him with sad eyes. “She will be. She just needs time to mourn what she’s lost.” Levi runs his hands up and down Jamari’s back in comforting strokes. ‘We won’t do that to our mate, right?’ Ren whimpers in my mind, laying his head on his paws. Watching the story play out in front of me brought up a lot of concerns I hadn’t allowed myself to dwell on. What happens when there are more of us vying for Jamari’s attention? Will we fight amongst each other in order to recieve the attention we seek?Then there is the underlying fear that someone will be unhappy enough to attack the others in order to keep Jamari to themselves. Most creatures wouldn’t be okay with sharing their mate with countless others. Especially if all of the mates are the Alpha males of their race.What happened to Rieka all of those years ago can not happen to Jamari. My eyes shift to where she stands wrapped up in Levi’s arms.

Jamari’s POV My head whips up at the confession Lachesis just made, my eyes widening in surprise. The Fates were the ones responsible for keeping Kenji and I apart the last four years?
