Rieka’s POVA sense of deja vu washes over me as I sit here quietly, listening to the Fates relay a story from long ago. Something about the story seems familiar to me, causing me to feel deep sadness within my soul.An image begins to play out in the open space of the bedroom floor, startling everyone in the room. Clotho’s knowing eyes glance in Jamari’s direction as a sense of familiarity consumes me.I turn my attention back to the image growing in clarity in the center of the room.A woman appears, sobbing, and surrounded by blood and pieces of the creatures she loved dearly. Three women approach her slowly, their hands up in the universal sign of peace. As they grow nearer I recognize them as the woman seated on the couch in front of me. The woman glances up at the sound of their approach, her face covered in blood and tears as another heart wrenching sob leaves her lips. “How can Fate be so cruel?” She asks them, not really expecting an answer. Clotho approaches the sobbing wo
Kenji’s POV“Is Rieka okay?” Levi asks Jamari, pulling her in for a bear hug.She looks up at him with sad eyes. “She will be. She just needs time to mourn what she’s lost.” Levi runs his hands up and down Jamari’s back in comforting strokes. ‘We won’t do that to our mate, right?’ Ren whimpers in my mind, laying his head on his paws. Watching the story play out in front of me brought up a lot of concerns I hadn’t allowed myself to dwell on. What happens when there are more of us vying for Jamari’s attention? Will we fight amongst each other in order to recieve the attention we seek? Then there is the underlying fear that someone will be unhappy enough to attack the others in order to keep Jamari to themselves. Most creatures wouldn’t be okay with sharing their mate with countless others. Especially if all of the mates are the Alpha males of their race. What happened to Rieka all of those years ago can not happen to Jamari. My eyes shift to where she stands wrapped up in Levi’s arms.
Jamari’s POV My head whips up at the confession Lachesis just made, my eyes widening in surprise. The Fates were the ones responsible for keeping Kenji and I apart the last four years? Anger radiates off of Kenji, his shifting to black obsidian as Ren pushes to the surface, his power swirling around us. “Explain.” They growl as one. I softly place my hand over his on my thigh in an attempt to cool his rising anger. His angry eyes meet mine, small flames dancing far in their depths, reminding me of when Levi gets angry. “We can’t say too much on the matter, but just know that if you had formed a bond with Jamari in that garden like you had intended, it would have led to history repeating itself once more.” Clotho locks eyes with Kenji as she says this. We all sit silently in our spots as we wait to see what Kenji will do next. After a few moments, he nods his head, agreeing to let it drop for now. “Levi is the key to holding you all together.” Atropos tells us quietly, not gi
Jamari’s POV “Athena’s life was the first of many lives that she has lived throughout the ages. Each of those lives has ended in tragedy. Her soul became entwined with Rieka’s during their last life, lessening her powers as a goddess, and hopefully saving her from her brother’s wrath in this life.” Clotho leans back wearily. Sensing that they couldn’t say more on the subject, and knowing that Levi would not leave it alone this time, I decided to change the subject to something they mentioned earlier. “You told Kenji that he was the one that made his shorts appear earlier, what did you mean by that?” Clotho gives me a grateful look as she settles herself into her seat. “Each mating will allow your mates to take a piece of each other’s powers as their own.” “Thus making us all stronger.” Kenji says from beside me, finally understanding what they meant by that earlier. “Is that why everything sounds louder and my vision is clearer?” Levi asks, surprising me. “I also feel stronger th
**TRIGGER WARNING** Some scenes in this chapter could be triggering to those sensitive to instances of coerced sex with a minor**** Remiel’s POV Try as I might, I have never been able to piece together what happened the day Ruth was conceived. The last thing I remember is walking Eve to the Throne Room before I wake up in my bed in the Angel Realm the following day. It wasn’t until a month later that I found out that Mammon was pregnant, and the child was mine. Disgusted with what she had done, Mammon tried to kill herself, putting the life of my child in danger. After the first time that Mammon tried to harm herself I had no choice but to lock her away in the Angel Realm. She cried herself to sleep every night at the thought of what she did to me. Not that she remembered it happening anymore than I did. If it wasn’t for Morgana confirming that Mammon was pregnant with my child, neither of us would have believed Eve’s accusation that the child wasn’t Lucifer’s and was in fact t
Remiel’s POV “Now now…Lucy Darling, don’t get your panties in a bunch.” Eve snickers at Lucifer. “There is nothing you can do to me from that side of your prison.” Her eyes leave Lucifer as she roams my body from head to toe. “You have grown into quite the attractive Angel.” She purrs at me, receiving a growl from Lucifer behind me. Eve ignores Lucifer as she continues to look me over, lust clear in her eyes. “The fun the two of us could have.” Her voice comes out a sultry whisper, invading my brain, attempting to take hold. ‘Block out her voice Remiel. Don’t let her get a hold on you.’ Uncle Luc’s voice flits through my mind, drawing my attention to the spell Eve is trying to weave on my senses. “Your sorcery won’t work on me Eve.” My eyes watch her closely as I back closer to Lucifer’s prison, pressing my back against the magical barrier separating us. “What a shame.” She feigns confliction, her left arm laying across her upper abdomen as she inspects the fingernails on her r
Levi’s POVWatching the blood flood from Jamari was the scariest moment of my life. My heart stopped within my chest as Kenji searched her stomach for the wound that was gushing blood. Things became even more alarming when Kenji was unable to find any wound to account for the blood still rushing out of Jamari. If there is no wound, then there is no way to stop the flow of blood dripping off of her. Not that the loss of blood seems to be affecting Jamari at all. She should be acting lethargic from the amount of blood that came out, but she seems perfectly fine as she lays back on the mattress. What the hell is going on right now?Clotho approaches Jamari, placing her hand on her abdomen, her hand becoming soaked in blood. Her eyes fade to white, a concentrated look appearing on her face, as she searches for something from Fate. After a moment she lets out a growl of frustration, her eyes returning to their natural three-toned color. “Something is blocking me from seeing Remiel.” Her
Levi’s POVLetting out a deep sigh I walk through the barrier separating me from my father and close to death cousin. Remiel looks up at me upon my entrance, a grimace on his face. My arms fold over my chest as I stare down at my wounded cousin. “Bet you wish you had stayed with us, huh cousin?”“Quit being an asshole Demon.” He growls, lifting his body to a seated position with the help of my father. “And get me out of here before you have to explain to our mate how you allowed me to bleed to death on your father’s bearskin rug.” He looks down at the rug with mild interest.“Trust me, you don’t want to know about the rug.” A shiver of disgust moves through me. Remiel lifts an eyebrow in question but decides against asking any questions about the questionable rug. Pushing the horrors of the rug out of my mind, I reach down and grasp Remiel’s shoulder. In an instant his wound stopped bleeding as his skin knitts back together. Remiel lets out a groan of pain at the increased speed of
