Baylee comes rushing over, she hugs me first before she climbs on Cadens knee

“Can I stay with you too?”

I kiss her little forehead

“Ofcourse, why don’t we go up to the apartment, we can watch something while dad plans the wake”

I clamp my eyes shut at the last word, the thought of dj and how and why he died hitting me again, making me angry and pissed yet devastated all at the same time.

“Come mum I’ll walk you up”

Caden whispers, standing up and taking my arm, as we leave the room he stops by the kitchen writing a note then we all head to the tv room in my apartment. It was very early in the morning yet it felt like time no longer existed.

The kids choose something to watch as I lay in the corner, missing drake and dj already, the doctor would prepare him for the funeral while drake caught up with mum and dad and everything we had missed while we have been gone.
