Forty: Sloane

When dinner was over, I was relieved to find my room just as I had left it. The only difference was a new lock on my door, but I would still be moving a piece of furniture in front of it at night to keep intruders out.

Mainly, Ethan.

A knock on my door had me rushing to it, and as I pulled it open, I found my tall, lanky little brother standing there. I grabbed his arm and pulled him inside.

Aiden grunted at the force of my pull, and I didn't bother exchanging pleasantries with the guard, who immediately moved to stand in front of my door again as I slammed it shut.

"What did Ellie say? What the hell was that about at dinner?" I rushed to ask him, but he was more focused on the mess in my room as I hadn't had time to finish cleaning it back up yet.

"Forget dinner. What the hell happened in here?" Aiden asked, looking horrified when he spotted my closet.
