Thirty-Nine: Sloane

It was humiliating to sit with the packs in the dining hall with a guard standing right behind me. Everyone knew I had run away during the lockdown, and my father made sure to send his message loud and clear that I was currently on the outs with him by the cold shoulder he was giving me in addition to the guard.

It was a crowded pack dinner, celebrating Ben's win during the second challenge. Yet, even in a room with everyone sitting, eating, and drinking, someone stood no less than two feet behind my chair, ready to grab me if I ran.

The guard was unnecessary and frustrating. Even if I wanted to run away from the pack dinner, everyone would see me stand up and do so. There was no way to sneak off, and it irritated me that my father was trying to humiliate me this way.

Even Aiden wouldn't look at me for a while, knowing interacting with me would cause him to go on my father's shit list too. Still, he did nudge my shoe with his at one point to let me know that even though I was currently
