People are all the same, all they care about is their own.

Making sure that all of our things were back in the rucksack, we said our goodbyes. Annie was wishing us luck, and I wished her well. Reminding her that one of these days, she should tell the family of what really happened, of what she did. She can’t always live in guilt. Things happened, and it did had it’s dire consequences. What we do after is entirely up to us, I just hope Annie doesn’t lose the faith to be honest. Whatever happens, I hope the family forgives her, and I hope that after this, nothing as tragic as this would happen again.
Some things are just worth the wait.✾ Darkness surrounds me, I think I may have fainted. I wasn’t sure but I feel like this might be trapped into my subconscious. Hu
Show is not substance.✾ My eyes open and I see a brown ceiling with chipped paint. I try to stand up but find myself groaning instead from pain. Everything feels heavy, an invisible force tying me down to the bed I was currently lying on. It wasn’t even a soft bed. I try to sp
Time is always of the essence. ✾ “What?” I roll my eyes at him, placing both of my hands against my hip. “I said I changed my mind, I don’t feel like shifting now. I can ride you or walk instead.” “Are you serious?”
Someone's lack of empathy is what allows people to have less of what they deserve.✾ We were able to reach the next village in a matter of hours. It was probably close to night time already and yet unlike the Torrids and the Savanna, there were still some light source beyond the makeshift fences and gates. And yes, unlike the rest of the places we’ve been through, this place is surrounded a wall and a few royal guards. The walls aren’t that secure, that I was sure. The wall, if you could call it that, was just some rusting metal fences and old metal salvage that was positioned to block outsiders, and to hide whatever it was inside.
A sense of fulfillment, is usually hidden in small acts of kindness.✾ Upon closer inspection, I notice the logs and whatever it was that was barring the water flow looked as if it was just placed recently. Makes sense though since the soil from the Torrids was still moist and wasn’t that dry yet. Sighing, I look at the dock, the boats were full of fishes and clams. There were also some young kids and teenagers jumping into the sea. The people here really look different from the people of Torrids and Savanna. They weren’t as fresh looking and as well fed as the people of the Cinco capital but p
Love is soul to soul.✾ “You could have told me you gave him more than what he asked.” Yohan doesn’t reply at first, he was still humming as he opened the door to the inn. The door swings with a small jingling bell. It was just a small space, not bigger than my room back at the palace. The floor was carpeted a shade of yellow that reminds me of sunflowers, while the wallpaper that adorned the walls seemed like it was straight from the 80’s. It was a pattern of flowers with brown stalks and blue petals.
The belly rules the mind. A recipe is as spontaneous as the cook.✾ Like he promised, Yohan did help me in removing the shell of the shrimp. “I can’t remember the last time I had tempura,” He says a smile on his face. “You are making tempura, right?” Nodding, I start deveining the shrimp. This was a recipe that I learned from Eleanor, despite not being a Niju native, she was a terrific cook. I us
Betrayal never comes from people you don't know.✾ “Okay, that smells amazing!” Max pushed me aside to enter the room, sniffing as she goes. She wasn’t lying when she said that she had some cooked rice and bread ready in her own room. It’s not that much rice but it is still rice, and it’s been so long since I’ve had it. I don’t even remember if I had a full meal back at the academe before I got here. Yohan looks at both of us, shock in his face, he chuckles “Sure, come in?”
