34. "To Be Loyal By His Side"

Etizia's POV

Nox and I had wandered so far away from the others that I couldn't even hear my stepsister's cries as the guards took her away.

Nox and I ended up in a remote area where there was no sign of anyone else. Not even the werewolf guards who usually followed me around.

Nox released my hand and came to a stop, not bothering to glance back.

I stared at the hand he had been holding, noticing that there were no marks despite his firm grip. It was as if he was trying to be as gentle as he could.

Looking at his back, I began to conversation. "It's not true."

“…”

"That night, your brother and I met by chance. He was talking nonsense, and I brushed him off before going back to my room. The rumor isn't true."

Nox exhaled as he stared back at me. His deep voice then reverberated, "Then what is the truth?"

He locked his gaze with mine.

"What is the f*cking truth, Etizia?"

His voice, completely different from the one I was used to, felt strangely familiar for a brief moment. I
