Ever since Aria died, Damien had been feeling a hollow in his heart that he couldn't even explain.

He could remember Ava's words that compassion was the power of a king but right now, what he felt was deeper than compassion itself.

Remembering that his cousin was in the corps outside this place bothered him and without knowing how, tears filled his eyes.

He stood up from where he was sitting and washed a glass of wine down his throat.

He had never truly felt emotional pain since a long time ago but right now, he was feeling this way and he couldn't help it.

Although he couldn't believe it, his tears came down in droplets.

Someone knocked on his door and he quickly hid his tears and rearranged his countenance to keep a straight face.
