Twelve

I spent the whole of Saturday feeling very sorry for myself. I was starting to feel that Leon had over reacted. I was in the wrong, I shouldn't have said that but as Williams said, it wasn't incorrect. I had to get myself up and ready for dinner at nans and as I walked in the smell of food hit me.

"Help yourself to the pot," she grabbed my hand.

"Thanks nan."

"Sit," she pointed to her tiny kitchen table. I did as I was told obviously and sat down. It was just me and her, Ryan wasn't here yet and she sat opposite me. My nan was old, in her eighties, I would have to ask Ryan how old. She was a tiny woman, her dark hair in a scarf over her head. She was me and Ryan's mother growing up, she was incredibly special to me. I looked into her warm dark eyes and she grabbed my hand.

"You're upset, tell me." Her voice was firm.

"I'm okay," I waved off.

"No child, tell me." It wasn't a request.

"Just, I met a man and it's gone wrong and it's my fault and I feel awful." I shrugged.
