Twenty

I was in my formal uniform, at the police conduct office. Me and Stuart had signed in and stood in the waiting area. I was nearly biting my hand off, my heart smashing against my chest. I looked up at Stuart and he turned to me.

"He didn't do this, Lex. We both know that." I nodded, feeling better at his words.

"I know," I whispered.

"There was nothing I can remember that told me Leon wasn't behaving correctly that day. Anything you can think of?" He asked, turning his body to me. I shook my head.

"Nothing, I don't even remember Leon talking."

"True, I usually do that." Stuart chuckled and I smiled, making me feel better.

"SFO Duggan?" A blonde man in a suit appeared at the door. I nodded, taking my hat off and holding it to my chest as I followed him into a huge interview room. The light was bright as I sat opposite the blonde man and a beautiful dark skinned woman, she smiled at me and I felt a bit better, her smile was bright.

"Right, Lexie, is it okay that we call you Lexie?
