CHAPTER NINETEEN

Lilliana walked down the stairs minutes later, ready in her school uniform with a blazer hanging on her arm and a backpack carelessly swung over her shoulder. Putting everything on one of the sofas in their living room, she made her way into the kitchen. Avoiding eye contact with Damon who was leaning against the kitchen counter, she walked across the room to the medication cabinet in search of painkillers. She opened the cabinet and scanned the inside for advils for her headache and let out a pained groan when she saw them on the top shelve a couple of feet above her height.

Placing one hand on the counter top for balance, she got on her tiptoes and reached out her other hand to try and grab them but all in vain. Damon, who was silently watching her, asked "Do you need help??" The girl stubbornly shook her head no and continued trying. But with each attempt pushed the painkillers further away from her reach with the tips of her fingers. The man rolled his eyes, putting his now empty
