FORTY ONE

Adonis waved at Mary when he sighted her coming out from where she stood and taking slow but steady steps towards him.

Mary walked towards him slowly, because she feared what he might do to her when he got hold of her, the memories from the previous night flooded her head, almost making her weak in the knee especially as she stared into those pair of beautiful blue eyes.

He was just too beautiful.

“You really are back?” Mary asked with a bright smile as she walked up to him.

“I told you I was on my way back” he said taking her hand and standing up to meet her.

“You look even more beautiful today Mary, what is the secret? Tell me” he said almost like a command. “Because I also want to look as beautiful as you”. Mary Wondered if he was trying to make mockery of her. How would a man she so much admired that even only his touches were enough to set her heart aflutter ask to be as beautiful as her.

“Joke of the day” she said sarcastically.
