THIRTY FOUR

Tolu stood in the line as she wiped the sweat off her forehead. As DUL wasn’t like every other university, registration started after the first tests. So on the first day of the month, the month of November that was supposed to be a chill day for fresher’s, they were all lining up in front of the school administrative office trying to complete their registrations.

Tolu rolled her eyes after she checked her wristwatch. It was already past 12pm and the line had not moved an inch for over an hour. A lot of students were entering with people they knew and getting things done.

Tolu hissed as she had long realized that her mom great connections didn’t extend into DUL. She slowly rubbed her stomach as she checked her wristwatch again. She was scared of leaving her line in case by the time she came back; her space would have been taken and in fact, others might claim that she wasn’t here before.

A likewise incidence had happened few hours earlier where the girl had rushed
