Chapter 16: True Identity

I called Mrs. Valerina from Rozine’s phone and she picked it up in a ring.

“Hello, Mrs. Valerina?”

“Yes, speaking.. Who’s this? And why do you have my daughter’s phone?”

“I’m her CEO speaking. I guess you need to come to the hospital quickly urgently.”

“Is my daughter okay?”

“Mrs. Valerina.. I, uh-”

I couldn’t form words as to how do I tell someone that I took their daughter out and couldn’t protect her.

“We were at the ball and bullets were fired and-”

“WHAT??” She shouted. “Where’s my Rose? What did you do to her?” Her voice broke at the end.

“She’s fine. Your daughter is fine, Mrs. Valerina. She just got unconscious.” I saw the Doctor coming out of the ICU.

“I’m coming.” She said and hung up.

“Is she alright?” I asked the Doctor.

“Come with me to my office.” I followed her inside.

She took her seat and motioned me towards the chair. “Please, have a seat, Mr. Risso.”
