Chapter 14: In Which She advances
Isla looked at herself in the mirror running the palm of her hand over the soft velvet fur of her blush pink dress that fitted her form perfectly, doing wonders for her figure. It was a gift from her dad waiting in her room when she got back from their little chat.
But Isla was unhappy. She had a frown etched on her face as she played out different scenarios of how this meeting with her fiancé after two straight years might go and none of them seemed to end well.
Putting on one last coat of peach lip shine she headed out of her room deciding to face her reality and at least get this meeting over and done with. With any luck either she'll meet him again after a long six months on their wedding or not at all.
She'd definitely prefer the latter.
Outside her room, Alexander stood guard waiting for her, not in a very good mood himself either knowing that Isla was going to meet the man who is her fiancé but she is actually being forced to meet him

As soon as Isla was in her room escorted by Rolfe, she slammed the door close in frustration and started pacing back and forth, running her hand through her hair.She was so angry at her father but she didn't know how to take it out or who to take it and on. A week of stolen kisses and sneaky romance passed by since they made their relationship official. The sneaking around had its own thrill and they had both gotten pretty good at it, plus, Isla had made it a habit to sneak over to the pool house and sleep on top of him instead of in her own bedroom and since then Alexander had been distracted enough from thoughts of her on his mind that his nightmares had gotten infrequent and he was getting proper sleep, waking up in the morning to the beautiful sight of her face.Mr. Gambino was holding his annual party at night. Alexander woke up to the buzzing of his phone on the bedside table as he squinted at the faint blue light the illuminated from the phone.He looked down at Isla who was soundlessly sleeping on him, making him her personal mattress, she stirred a little at the commotion but went right back to her slumber as Alexander's fingers weaved through her silky strands with one hand as he picked up and answered his phone with the other, looking at the caller ID to see it was one of the security team members."What is it?" he asked, voice groggy as he massaged his temples to get the sleep away."We have an urgent thing to take care of. A week and a half passed to Alexander's injury, his stitches, even though healed were still a little sore but it was nothing he couldn't handle.During that whole time his little girlfriend had acted like a mother hen, making him food, feeding it to him and once she even went as far as offering to take him to the bathroom to which he declined with great emphasis. It was quite adoring for him that she was caring for him like that but only to a point and that line was drawn on when she made that offer.
