I pressed my lips together at the suggestion the Elder made. A few Elders nodded in agreement.

“That oldie is getting on my nerves. Let’s rip his mouth off,” Zarah yelled, and I shut her out immediately to avoid distraction.

“Rejection?” Kane scoffed, “Is that the only option? Rejection?” I turned to him slightly in time to see the edge of his lips tug up in a bitter smirk.

“Alpha,” a middle-aged-looking female dragged. Kane directed his gaze at her.

“The topic is still open for discussion,” she continued.

“Why wouldn’t it be?” Soph frowned. Her reply earned her a snicker from the Elder.

“As River said, we are merely worried about the future of the pack, and as such, this matter should be discussed with caution,” Greg’s voice stopped the heated eye contact exchange between Soph and the female Elder.

“And as such, I apologize on his behalf for bringing rejection so blatantly. The Goddess chose Rune Leeder at the Elect ritual, so we cannot do away with her so easily,” Grey’s blue
