I shift around on the hospital bed, not able to find a comfortable position, while my mind races. Something is off, but what?

My mind fills with various things, but none of them seems like the right answer.

I glance beside me at Trent’s bed, and I’m filled with a small sense of relief. He is looking better today, and his color is almost back to normal. I wish I knew what has helped him recover so fast. The doctors agree it isn’t because of their treatment. They have changed nothing.

The sound of chaos and frantic footsteps pulls my attention to the open door at the other end of the room as my heartbeat quickens. A sense of dread takes hold of me.

Oh, no. Did the intruders get into the bunker? Why am I not hearing anything about it?

Struggling, I slowly push myself up and rest my back on the headboard while my eyes stay glued to the door.
