CHAPTER 2: Back to present

Rosalina POV:

It was a gloomy and cloudy morning. The rain was torrential. The surrounding was tranquil and the only sound that could be heard was the rain enveloping the ground into its embrace. The weather was quite comfortable. The sight of the trees getting refreshed by the touch of rain and dancing in the directions of the wind was mesmerizing. Even though the morning was gloomy but I enjoyed that kind of weather.

I looked up at the clock and saw it was 6:30 am.

'I am early' I thought.

As much as I enjoy sleeping but waking up early in the morning was a routine. I prefer to utilize my time rather than wasting it by fooling around, not that I have anybody to fool around with. I decided to get up and get dressed for school.

Since it was a cold day I decided to wear something simple and comfortable. So I chose something like it.

Makeup was never my thing as it made me feel heavy and I couldn’t apply it properly either. So, I just applied sunscreen and tied my hair into a ponytail

I went to make my breakfast as my mother was still sleeping. I was not feeling that hungry So, I decided to just grab an apple and go by leaving a note for my mother.

As I was heading to the school I was feeling uneasy. Although I knew I was going to get bullied today like every other day but it was a different feeling. A feeling which I experience when something is coming.

As I head to school I saw there were very few people who have arrived. Mostly couples who came to spend some “quality time” with each other.

Some were talking to each other normally whilst blushing while others were just eating up each other's faces.

"Disgusting" I mumbled to myself

I left that place as soon as possible and went towards the empty area.

'Let's just read some books to kill time' I huffed to myself and head to the library.

I went to the library and fortunately, it was empty. I selected one book and sat at one of the desks near the window. I read until the bell rang as a sign that students should be in their classrooms.

Going down the hallway and I noticed that a lot of students have arrived. Of course, like always they did not miss giving me an indifferent look. Nosy, unnecessary, and stupid people.

I ignored them and continued my journey to the classroom.

I reached to be greeted by an empty classroom making me sigh in relief as I started to settle for the next class. After I was done, I began to read my book.

When I was reading, I heard footsteps entering the classroom but I didn't bother to look up as I was used to it. The footsteps stopped right in front of me yet I did not spare a glance. The person spoke

"Hey there slut" The voice spoke in a mocking tone

I still did not bother to look up as I knew who it was and this situation had kind of become like a daily routine. Then all of a sudden I felt my arm being held into an extremely tight grip. Although it hurt a lot I still managed to have a poker face.

I did not want to look up as I don't want to ruin my mood. But I had no other option but to look at the figure standing in front due to the pressure on my arm.

The person was the one who made my day 3 years ago but now looking at his face gives me a sour feeling. It was none other than Jaxon Jacobson.

"How dare you ignore me?" He said in a threatening tone

I remained unfazed. Even though it has been three years since mine and his break up but he still bullies me. The first two years he did not do much, it was his friends and other students who verbally bullied me but he had started to do so way harshly. After all, he has become known to be the bully of the campus for now and I was his only prey for bullying.

Yes, I tried to move on from him a year ago and after watching his cruel actions, I had no positive feeling for this person in any way whatsoever. Just because it was the last year of school I am bearing him as after this year I will go abroad to continue further studies.

I still did not say anything. His grip on my arm got tighter with every second making me wince. As he was about to speak the bell rang again saying that the classes were about to commence.

"Fuck!" Jaxon cursed under his breath

He harshly let go of me and returned to his seat. I stood up and fixed myself then looked back just to see him glaring. I silently rolled my eyes.

After some time, everyone came in and as usual, I was sitting alone as Jaxon made sure I lose all my friends. The teacher came in

"Good morning class!" She said and every one replied favourably

"Okay, so we have a new student. I want you to treat him properly. Please come in!" The teacher said indicating to the newcomer

The new student came in and the girls started to squeal but I was still lost looking at my book.

"Hello everyone my name is Kai Smith. Hope we get along well"  He introduced himself

I was still not interested.

"Okay thank you Kai and you may go sit beside Rosalina"

The teacher said and the girls started to glare at me.

I immediately looked up and gave an annoyed face not liking the idea of a seatmate but remained silent. The guy came and quietly sat beside me. The class commenced.

In the middle of the class, I could feel something poking my hand. I look at my hand and see the new guy poking it with a pencil as a sign of calling me.

"Need something?" I asked annoyed

"Wow I never got such a cold response from any girl... they usually get nervous or start squealing in excitement," he said exaggerating

"Well not everyone is the same," I said coldly

"Yes you're different... you're weird," he said

I rolled my eyes at him

I was always an unsocial person and became more introverted after all the bullying I faced for the last few years. So, talking to a person all of a sudden was pretty new for me.

"Wanna be friends?" He asked all of sudden

I got a bit startled at his sudden request but still maintained a poker face. I bitterly chuckled as I thought of him talking to others and answered coldly

"I'll think about it"

He gave me a warm smile and turned to continue listening to the lesson

Even though I was friendless for straight three years but the idea of making a friend did not sound bad. But I was still afraid to do so as the consequences will be on the way.

THIRD-PERSON POV

But little did Rosalina know, someone was watching the whole scene and burning.

"Don't even dare to do anything else Rosalina or else you will surely regret more for doing whatever you had done in the past and now" The person mumbled to itself
