Chapter hundred thirty-six

Ethan’s POV

“Oh my fucking goodness, what do we do now?” Lowell asked immediately as I walked into my study later that morning.

My face had turned pale, my confrontation with Layla had turned things around in my head. When Lowell had broken the news to me earlier, I couldn’t believe it, I didn’t want to. Of course, I couldn’t! It was absurd, it sounded absurd! It had to be false!

Those were all the thoughts I had slept struggling with late at night. Layla was certainly not someone I would say couldn’t hurt a fly, but going as far as murder was blood-chilling! I sighed as I took a seat behind my desk, I felt suffocated and quickly undid the first two buttons of my shirt. I pointed to the air conditioner and said to Lowell, “Full blast, turn it up.”
