Robert POV.

“You’re doing great, my Regina. Breathe, baby.” I have hold of Marissa’s hand as she groans in pain. The labour is in full swing. Word has spread like wildfire in the pack that their Luna is in the throes of labour.

“I can’t do this. I’m too tired.” I kiss her sweaty forehead as I look at my mother, and she shakes her head once.

“You can do this. Think of how far you have come. Now I need you to take deep breaths. I’m here and I’m not going anywhere.” I tell her gently as a tear slips past her eyes as she grits her teeth, tightening her grip on my hand as her back arches up as she screams.

I wish I could take all her pain from her, but I can’t. Nero is working to keep me as painfree as possible. The thing about the mate bond is that when your mate is in pain, you feel it and I can say I’m feeling her pain. But right now, I need to keep her calm and keep encouraging her to breathe.

“That’s it sweetie, it won’t be long now. Let it go.” My mother coos from the end of the bed
