"If there's nothing else to say, I'll hang up first," said Angeline softly over the phone.

"Angeline…" Sean called out to her.

"Do you really have to be engaged to Nathaniel?"

"Why?" she asked.

She thought they had already clarified everything when they met that day.

Before Sean could say anything, there was a knock on his study door.

"Mr. Kingston, Mrs. Kingston has woken up. She's in a bad mood and wants you to go to her," the maid said softly from outside.

Upon hearing the maid's voice, Angeline said, "You should go."

Sean quickly explained, "Melissa is not used to the hospital, so I brought her home with me. Initially, I planned to send her back to the Lane residence, but given her condition, she cannot be without me.

"Just like before, we are staying in separate rooms. She has nurses and maids taking turns to look after her."

"Okay, I understand," Angeline replied.

"Go ahead with your business. I still have work, so I'll hang up now."

With that, she ended the call.
