Chapter 49 Rejection

"Chris, watch your attitude towards Helen." Lewis was dissatisfied with Chris's attitude. He led Helen Foster inside the house.

Lewis first scanned the room and placed the briefcase in his hand on the sofa. He took his jacket off and walked up tot he dining table. He then sized Laura up and down. "You're Chris's newlywed wife?"

Laura noticed how Lewis addressed Madam Jacobs when he walked into the house.

Laura looked at Chris. When she saw that Chris had a dark face, she didn't make a sound.

"That's enough!" Madam Jacobs slammed the cutlery in her hand on the table She raised her head and looked at Lewis in the eyes. "Who said you could come back? Didn't I tell you that if you choose to be with this woman, then you're no longer part of the Jacobs family?"
