Mistakes Are Punished

Linda’s POV

The dogs, sensing their purpose, began to bark even louder, their ferocious voices sending shivers down my spine.

With each passing moment, the footsteps drew nearer, the sound of gravel crunching beneath their weight like a death knell. I pressed myself further against the fence harder as if it was going to make me invisible.

But then, just as I felt the grip of fear tightening around my throat, a new sound cut through the chaos. It was a low, guttural growl, followed by the sounds of paws scraping against the ground.

The dogs had caught my scent.

My blood turned to ice as I realized that my time was running out. And just like that, they had caught me.

I immediately tried climbing the fence to escape but it was too late. The dog grabbed my leg, but its bite was not deep enough to pierce my skin.

It pulled to the ground and I fell hard, my body aching all over. The dogs seemed vicious and I tried to shield myself but none of them bit me.
