I looked at myself in the mirror and did a little twirl. It was my first day interning at my father’s company. I was dressed in a white shirt, a suit jacket, and matching shorts. Not knowing what to do with my hair, I put it up in a ponytail.

I looked good. I looked ready for work. I didn’t know what exactly I was going to do at the office but I was ready for it.

Looking at the time, I was certain my father was going to call out my name soon so I grabbed my bag and rushed down the stairs. “I’m ready!” I announced when I reached the living room.

My father assessed my clothes. “You look good but don’t you think that’s a little… short?”

“No, it’s not.” My mother opposed him, walking out from the kitchen. “Have breakfast before leaving.”
