CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

ALISTAIR’S POV

Wiping the blood streaking from my nose, I glared at my so-called brother with bloodshot eyes. The term “brother” held little resonance in this moment, given the frustration that stemmed from the realization that he had set me up.

He knew his mother would be there. He knew she hated me and when I told him I wouldn’t make it to the dinner, he kept in persisting. Though he wasn’t at fault either as I choose to be present and wasn’t forced, I just needed someone to transfer my aggression to.

“What are you all doing standing there?“ I asked as I tilted my head to the maids, that stood still as they watched the scene before them. “Get lost!“

They all sauntered to their heels, moving out of the room in haste before I turned to look at my brother. He picked up a napkin from the dining table and wiped his bloody ass nose.

“Are you mad at me or you foolish girl?“ He questioned and once again, my body moved on its own. Before I knew, I had gotten close to him and pulled him tight
