"So, what’s the problem?"

I asked a Brent, who met me just a few miles away from the cabin in his truck.

“A lot of activity has been happening around this house. That is just as much as I know.”

“What kind of activity? I need to know what dragged me away from-“

A surge of excitement surged through my body. Something was happening. Something was wrong. I never felt something so intense. A warning so vibrant that it stunned me in the moment.

"Stop!” I commanded.

He slammed his foot on the break; his face twisted up in concern.

“Call the others. Meet me at the house. Now!”

I did not have time to wait for him. I got out the vehicle and rushed through the brush, pushing myself, picking up speed to make back to the cabin.

Bursting through the door, I felt a sense of emptiness when I saw what they left behind. They tossed tables and chairs. They destroyed decorative pieces. Something bad had swam through this cabin.
