For the next few days, Z didn’t miss the chance to crane her neck over to the usual table of the Skippers. Always at the end, she’s groaning with disappointment as they proved to be absent yet again. Where had they gone? Were they, in any way, hurt? She didn’t want to think along those lines because it made her heart clench, but there’s no way they’d be excepted to the rule unless they’re incapable of upholding it.

On top of that, Mr. Porche remained nasty. She would never forget how his attacks almost killed her to the point that Granny ended up reprimanding Mr. Porche. Although she found it funny that he couldn’t say a thing as Granny complained about the way he did things, Z couldn’t help thinking what made him so mad that he forgot he’s punishing a student, not killing one.
