Out in the Night
Granny brushed the grayish strands of Z’s hair, her brows furrowing, her forehead a little wrinkly. It’s been a while since she concocted a potion for herself. She’s just way too busy tending with the Shadowests’ welfare that it became so hard to find time for something trivial as making her features younger. Though her body’s already reverting to its original form, she found it easy to ignore, especially when she’s been worried sick about Z.
As Z stirred, Granny started working on the monitor beside her bed to stabilize the flow of blood in Z’s body, still thinking about what she’d unravel while she’s asleep. She didn’t want to think about it, but she’s been having a lot of theories lately. One of them should at least be clarified right now or else she’d turn insane.
“Do you feel something?” said Granny the moment Z opened her eyes. She sat back to her stool, crossing her arms.
