Chapter 206

Trevor was in a deep sleep when Bryce called.

Edna was still awake. She lay in bed, tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep.

Then, she heard the vibrations from Trevor's phone. A thrill went through her veins.

Trevor's phone was charging in the living room. She hurriedly put on her clothes and got out of bed.

She held up the phone and saw Bryce's name on the screen.

It felt like she'd picked up a hot coal with her bare hands. She dropped the phone.

The phone landed on the floor with a thud. It didn't break and kept on vibrating.

Edna bent over hurriedly and picked it up. It didn't feel right to hang up.

She could turn off the phone, but she felt guilty about doing it.

After a long pause, she reluctantly decided to pick it up.

Bryce said lightly, "What happened to Holly today at work, Trevor?"
