“Hey, give it back!” Heidi stood up to snatch back the letter, but Killian held it high far out of her reach. “You're not gonna accept this proposal, are you?”

Heidi snickered. “So what? It's none of your business.”

Killian smiled and stared at Isla. “What do you say, Sweetie? I'm Lucas Harrison's best friend, do you also think it's none of my business?”

“M-Mr. Jonas, please don't include me in this. I respect Ms. Olsen's decisions…” Isla avoided his gaze.

Killian narrowed his eyes on her. “What's wrong, are we on bad terms again?”

“But we're not on good terms.”

“Why don't you call me Killian then?” He touched her shoulder.

Isla flinched and sprang to her feet. “Please excuse me, Ms. Olsen… I- I need to take care of something.”

She hurried away, looking disoriented. But instead of heading to the gates, she rushed inside the house.

“Hey, why's she acting like that?” Killian frowned.

“And what are you up to, Killian?” Heidi gave him a pointed look, dropping both hands on her waist. “
