Chapter 96: Make Us Forget.

Catherine's POV.

The walk toward his room was brisk; I had checked his study, but he wasn't anywhere in sight, and I guessed he must be in his room. I kept muttering prayers that his door would be unlocked; the man had become so tenacious and childish at the same time.

I was happy I threw that uppity woman out of the house, and the fact that Lucas didn't stop me made me want to do so much to him right then. It was crazy how he behaved these days, but I would set things right for the two of us.

I didn't know what I felt for him, but I knew whatever I was feeling was enough to not want to let him go.

I let out a sigh of relief as I noticed the door slightly ajar. Standing before it, I took a moment to gather all the positive energy I could muster. I knew dealing with the man behind that door would test my patience, and I didn't want to say anything I'd regret later.
