Anya’s POV

My heart was racing because I didn't know what to say to Abel, and the way he tilted his head at me made me feel guilty when I wasn't guilty of any crime.

"Speak up, Anya! Where are you coming from at this early hour of the morning?" Abel inquired again, and I fiddled with my fingers.

I wasn't certain whether I should tell him the truth or not, so I thought about what those men talked about and concluded it was best if I told him the truth because those men surely talked about the kingdom. I took a big breath before speaking.

"I woke up early and decided to go for a run," I explained, and Abel nodded, his hard gaze softening and his hands that were on his hips slumped beside him.

“It took you long enough to say it, do you think I was going to scold you for going out for a run?” Abel asked, and I shook my head.

“Of course not. I actually heard something, and I wasn’t sure how to tell you about it” I said, piquing his interest, he took a few steps closer to me immediatel
