47. Gone

ABEL’S POV

I woke up the next day feeling extremely horrible about myself.

I did not mean to upset her last night or make her feel that Ariana could get away with whatever she did to her.

Sometimes I really wanted to tell her about Ariana’s father so she could understand why we had to tolerate her even though we could not stand her.

But I knew that Andrei wouldn’t want me to tell her, so I held myself back and kept whatever I wanted to tell her to myself.

I hated that she had gone to bed angry with me. I hoped that she would be in a better state of mind to talk to me.

Anyone would be mad after the person who framed them got away with it.

Even though the maid was punished, she wasn’t the mastermind, so it did not matter.

Thirty minutes later, I sat at the dining table, having breakfast with Andrei. Andrei did not raise his head to look at me once, but I could tell he was watching me.

I finally could not stand it anymore. I slammed my fork on the table and looked him in the eye
