49. Saddened

ANYA'S POV

I walked down the forest path as slowly as I could. I had been running for a few hours now, and I was tired. I knew that I had to convey my strength if I wanted to get out of this place alive.

I looked down at the men's clothes that I was wearing. I hadn't planned to disguise my identity before I left, but as I made my way out of the Palace, I thought that it would be best to disguise myself so that I wouldn't be caught.

I had taken a pair of male clothes that I found outside someone's house. It would help me cover up my identity.

I thought about Abel. I had thought about him a lot since I left the Palace. I almost wanted to go back to the palace because of how much I was missing him, but I knew that I couldn't do something like that. I would only be getting myself in trouble if I did that.

I won't ever be getting a chance to leave. I will just give up on Abel. He and I were never meant to be in the first place.

I will just bury whatever feelings I have for him.
