Chapter 64: Not Capable to Love

I was flabbergasted because of what I heard coming from him. As he described me, I was like a hidden treasure he had dug on his own, like he was proud to have me as his concubine.

King Edward tilted his head and didn't remove his sight from me while he inhaled deeply. My eyes tightly shut before my hands raised, and caressed the blue diamond necklace. I was grateful and nervous about Sarah and Lady Maureen's reactions.

“King Edward...” I huffed his name, preventing myself from saying something offensive. I was torn to accept the gift and rejected it. “I--I don't want them to think---”

“Ashianna, this is the first gift you will receive from me. It means, my other concubines always got a new gift coming from me. If you're afraid they might be angry with you then, I can protect you. What's the use of worrying those things if you have the King behind your back.” King Edward rebutted.

I didn't say anything because whatever I would say to him, I knew he wouldn't ever listen to me. I didn't
