Chapter 65: Gunner

King Edward didn't say anything but how he gasped to breathe some air made me guess he didn't like what I had said. My brow arched as I glanced out from the window. The heavy footsteps coming from the horses were all that we could hear.

King Edward seemed to have a deep thought, he might be thinking about his waiting works in his office. I heard him heave a sigh several times before he cleared his throat.

“I want you to prepare yourself for the upcoming contest of my pack. If you can fight against them then I think you can win against the other whores.” King Edward broke the silence.

My forehead creased as confusion struck my face because of what I had heard. My eyes landed on his, looked at him deeply like I was trying to invade what was in his mind. However, I couldn't because he was staring at me nonchalantly.
