Chapter 80: New Room

The awkwardness between me and Harvey created a strange tension. Marcus kept glancing at us; he seemed questionable, but from the moment his gaze came on mine, I looked away and checked out the scenery from the window. Guilt crept into my heart, giving me a pang in my chest, for I was attempting to treat him.

How would I face him after the conclusion in my freaking head? The thought of being with me while he was plotting to kill me gave me a disturbing panic in my head.

Anxiety rushed through my veins, making me chill before I cleared my throat, as I felt there was a lump deteriorating and making me swallow hard. My eyes shut tightly. King Edward's hand was on my legs, caressing me in front of the two men.

“Is there something wrong, Ashianna? Are you afraid someone might attack us here?” King Edward's tone might be icy, but I appreciated his concern for me. My head shook, I gazed at him, and I bit my lip.

“It's nothing, Your Majesty. What I'm thinking today isn't important.” I mumbled
