TWO WEEKS LATER

"Jack I won.." I laughed triumphantly, clasping my hands together.

Jack shook his head at me, "No you still owe me about a thousand dollars for spending the night at my motel" he replied, crushing my hopes and a frown morphed on my face.

"Guess I'd have to resort to borrowing from the bank.." I sighed.

"Or you go to jail" he gloatily smiled at me.

"Never" I smirked, watching him roll the dice on the monopoly game board. Ever since Emilio travelled two weeks ago to God knows where, my life has been totally peaceful.

Free from stress, fear and unnecessary issues. Grace took care of me and Jack became a good acquaintance of mine. When he wasn't on duty guarding the gates, he would spend his time with me in the garden or in the library.

We had so much in common. The weight of shouldering our heavy responsibilities in providing for both of our families laid on us and we found solace in just opening up to one another.
