She looked at him when he pulled away. The yellow color of his eyes was different, and she couldn’t figure out why it was so much deeper than it had been. It had to be the lighting in the house. He took her hand and began walking from room to room. “This is nice enough.” He said as he looked around. “She did say that somethings were still here. I think we can put them away in one of the storage sheds on the property. You can decorate it however you want later.”

“What?” she asked.

“I figured that was part of our deal.” He said. “You take care of the house and getting everything for it, and I pay for it.”

“This can’t be really happening,” Kathleen said as she looked away. “This is all so surreal.”

“Well, sometimes pumpkins do turn into carriages, sweetheart.” He said, and she laughed at him.
