Chapter 50 - please don't scream

Trent’s eyes squinted and his heart was pierced when he caught sight of a hickey on Avery’s neck. Her hair had covered a large amount but he still caught it due to the position he stood. Her bubbly look from earlier had turned sour upon seeing him and his heart ached even more.

“Avery,” Trent said painfully. Anderson wanted to pull her away but didn’t want to do anything for Trent to look pitiful in her eyes. Therefore, he restricted himself from intervening, watching them keenly.

Avery felt guilty. She had let him down by doing the very things she promised him she wouldn’t do and couldn’t face him. She knew she had to tell him to move on but at the moment, she lacked the courage upon seeing so much pain in his eyes.

“Trent, I’m late,” she said and began to walk away. Trent wanted to stop her but seeing Anderson there, he knew it would be useless. Avery had changed and Trent wanted to know why.

Perhaps she was just afraid of Anderson or he might have forced those kisses on her like
