The first thing Mystique witnessed while walking into the club with her friend Bell, was the full blast of music, loud enough to deafen her sensitive ears. Now, Mystique remembered why she hated clubbing.
First was the loud music, the second was the crowd, drunken people grinding against each other, the smell of alcohol, vomit, and sweat.
Mystique clearly remembered the last time she went to a club, she was nearly drugged. If it hadn't been for that stranger that helped her that night, only the heavens knew what would have happened to her. She would have been raped or worse, killed in a dark ally.
She also remembered who dragged her to the club and left her all alone and drugged. A shiver ran down her spine as she thought of that cruel person.
Mystique was just the average girl, she wasn't tall, wasn't short, her hair was long, brown and spiky at the side, her eyes were crystal green, sparkling brightly than the color but at that moment, they were as dim as a faded leaf, hidden behind some huge glasses.
"Bell, I don't think this is a good idea" she yelled over the music to Bell as they pressed pass sweaty people to the bar.
Going to a club was never a good idea for poor Mystique, she rather stay at home and take care of her ill uncle. If it hadn't been for the man who was persistent that she go out and have some fun, she would have never walked out of that house with Bell. The thought of leaving him all alone creeped her out but he assured her he would be fine on his own.
"Don't be such a pussy Mystique!" Bell shouted as they finally got to the bar and she ordered them drinks. "Have some fun!"
Bell was the typical party girl, crawling from one bar to the other, searching for random hookups but Mystique wouldn't blame her. Bell's figure was shaped perfectly, her features were sharp, her hair was a sparking blond and her eyes were deeper and clearer than the ocean, she was unique, nothing compared to her dimmed lighted friend.
Mystique rolled her eyes, only if having fun was that easy. She couldn't believe Bell and uncle talked her into this, she was wasting her time when she could put that time into good use by working extra time to earn more money for uncle's medicine.
"I don't think I can ever have fun" Her burdens were deeper than fun.
Bell rolled her eyes as she took a glass of wine from the bartender and took a long slip before looking back at Mystique, who was eyeing the place like it was some zoo filled with wild animals. She knew her friend had problems and dragging her to a bar would never solve those problems but it was Mystique's uncle's idea that she took her out, something to distract her for a while.
Belle opened her mouth to speak but was interrupted when she felt a hand had snaked around her waist, she turned to find a dashing young man smirking at her seductively. Bell equally winked at him, making Mystique roll her eyes as she turned her gaze away from the inappropriate scene going on in front of her.
"Do you wanna dance?" The man asked, digging his sharp fingernails against Bell's clothed waist, giving her the best seductive smirk he could master while a low whimpered escaped her lips.
Bell stared at him and ran her tongue over her red lips seductively, eyeing the young man from head to toe.
A good catch for tonight!
"Why would I say no to a handsome man" she winked at him and he chuckled.
"Come on then," the man said as he tried keeping his breathing steady, he made the right choice choosing his lady for the night.
Being enchanted by his luring smile, Bell smiled widely as she took a step to leave but suddenly remembered something as she sharply turned her gaze to Mystique, who seemed to be in her world as she stared at the glass of wine the bartender had placed in front of her.
"Misty, we have been with each other for years now and I know how you feel about your uncle. But just for once, forget everything and have some fun. Loosen up and see how the world is just for tonight" Palming her on the back encouragingly, Bell turned back to her waiting man and they both walked towards the already filled-up dance floor.
Mystique stared at the wine glass blankly, she could feel the burdens weighing on her shoulders. Her uncle, who had taken her in when she had nowhere to go, her uncle who took care of her when she lost her parents at an early age, her only family was seriously ill and if that wasn't enough, there were so many debts to pay.
She remembered how she dropped out of college because she could no longer afford to pay the fees, and it was that same time her uncle took ill and there was no one to take care of him.
Mystique sighed, Bell was right, she needed to forget, even if it would be for a very short period. With that thought in mind, Mystique emptied the wine glass into her empty system and asked the bartender for more, which was given to her.
After three to four glasses, Mystique swore she was seeing double as she dropped the glass, opening and shutting her eyes as she tried to see clearly but that was useless but, that didn't stop her as she took in more glasses. On the seventh glass, someone grabbed her wrist stopping her from taking more.
The nerve of that person!
With a pout, Mystique turned to the intruder to find herself staring at god himself because that was how the man looked like. Mystique chuckled as she let the gorgeous man take the glass from her and turned her body to him but Mystique frowned as she saw the hard look on the man's handsome face. The greek god wasn't smiling and his eyes were cold and harsh, they seemed dead and quite familiar. "You are drunk" the man stated, his voice deep and chilling, sending pleasurable chills down her spine.
"Why do you care?" Mystique questioned with another chuckle, her eyes never leaving the man's red lips, that looked kissable and oddly inviting. Unknowingly, she licked her lips as well.
How would it feel kissing those lips?
"You know..." Mystique started as she moved her body towards the stranger. "Why do you care if am drunk or not?" She moved closer while the stranger stood unmoving from his spot, his dark eyes holding no emotions.
She gazed directly into those familiar alluring orbs, then her stare went back to those flushing cheeks, red lips, she found herself getting enchanted. Unexpectedly, Mystique seized the man by the collar and pulled him in, and like a puzzle, they connected in one piece as she slammed her lips against the stranger.
So soft, warm, and delicate!
Mystique thought as she softly kissed and caressed his lips. Then gradually, she snaked her hand around the man's neck putting him closer, her hands brushed into the other's soft hair while the stranger stood stunned and unmoving, bearly making any movement with his lips.
But in one swing, the stranger came out from his frozen state as he slowly responded to the lazy kisses of the drunken person, who pulled back and chuckled lightly, the sound sounding like a soft Melody to the man's ears, he wanted to hear more of that sound.
"You are so cute!" Mystique pointed out, her hands not leaving his neck as she stared at him drunkenly.
Unable to resist the temptation any longer, the man wrapped his arms around her tiny waist, putting her even closer as their body came grinding against each other, sending both of them to a whole different level.
Then the man came closer to her ear and whispered in a low and deep tone.
"You are playing with fire"
A moan left her lips as she shut his eyes, enjoying the feeling of their body pressed together and the sound of his deep voice that suddenly became her favorite music. For once, she wanted to burn in that fire, for once she wanted this stranger to make her forget...just for once, she wanted to rebel.
"I want to burn in that fire!" Mystique whispered and that was the approval the stranger seek.
Mystique groaned as the morning sun pierced her eyes through the curtains, making it difficult to sleep peacefully. Turning on her side, she put the covers over her bare shoulders as a wandering smile took over her features. She couldn't remember the last time she slept this undisturbed with no nightmares. Deciding that she wasn't gonna sleep any longer, Mystique turned again, facing the ceiling as she slowly fluttered her eyes opened, only to come face to face with unfamiliarity. She stared blankly at the white ceiling as she tried to process what just happened but only succeed in inviting a headache as a painful moan left her mouth. She slowly sat upright, bringing a hand up to massage her pounding temple. Suddenly, her orbs went wide as flashbacks of the previous night's events came rushing back to her head. With a panic gasp, she held the bedsheets higher to her naked chest, her back hitting the bedstand as another painful groan came
"So, you mean to tell me the guy you had a one-night stand with gave you this cheque?" Bell asked for the hundredth time as she stared abruptly at the piece of paper in her hand, making Mystique roll her eyes dramatically. "He is paying me for the sex and I don't want that" Mystique sighed as she massaged her temple. Suddenly, a bulb lit up in Bell's brain. "We could use this for your uncle's surgery" Mystique immediately took the cheque from her. How could she use such money? "No, I can't and I would not. Am gonna find this guy and return his stupid cheque. I mean, what does he thinks of me. Some whore he can pay for sex. I won't allow him to treat me that way!" Bell stared at her friend, who was ranting. Sighing, she placed her elbow on the table before them with her fingers to her chin."Do you even know the name of this guy?" He finally asked when Mystique stopped blabbering. "Or where to
Mystique stared gaped at the man, completely unaware of the many eyes watching the two encounter. She blinked, how could she forget such a face. Those dark, cloudless orbs, that dark black hair, that straight pointed nose, those Sharp jawlines, those tempting lips, that bold, firm frame, those muscled arms that once had her caged for a night, that daring gaze. She gulped. Even if her memories had been wiped out, that face would still be printed on her mind. "What do you seek in here?" The coldness in his voice was what snapped Mystique back to reality as she raised an eyebrow, showing she didn't catch what the other man had said. "Sorry, come again?" Mystique grilled and the man rolled his eyes, installing his hands into his pockets. His face holding no emotions, his eyes cloaked with frost and searing. Mystique gulped again. Maybe this wasn't the man she met at t
"You met Damien Martinez!!!” Bell vociferated, standing up from where she was sitting on the kitchen counter in their little apartment, they had been sharing since they met, as soon as Mystique told her little encounter with the bastard. Mystique frowned “Not so loud Isabelle” sometimes she wondered why she told the idiot anything. Bell unanticipatedly moved closer to the other. “Tell me, how does he look?” “Why would I want to tell you such information, if you had gone in with me, you would have seen the asshole for yourself” Bell pouted as she playfully poked Mystique's arm. “I thought you understand misty” “Let me be Bell, let me think of how to return that bastard’s money” Mystique rested her cheeks on the back of her palm while her elbow was placed on the kitchen counter. “He told you not to return it” “And Yo
Finally, Mystique's uncle was discharged from the hospital and was brought back to his home, which had been abandoned for days, since no habitant had been living in the little house. "Mystique, I never asked you where you got the money for my operation" Uncle inquired as he settled himself down on one of the couches, with the help of Belle who chuckle at the unexpected question. It was a perfect opportunity...! "Misty made a new friend..." Bell started but Mystique immediately stepped forward, smacking Bell at the back of her head being the subject of discussion. "A friend...?" Her uncle raised a questioningly, his left eyebrow raised higher than normal. Mystique chuckled nervously, adjusting the glasses on the bridge of her nose. "Don't mind her uncle, I borrowed it from someone. Am planning on paying it back as soon as you get better" she told her uncle in a smooth li
Days turned into three weeks, Mystique had been working for her unknown boss, who never for once visited his home, which Mystique did not mind at all. It made it easier to follow the stupid rules, made her job much simpler. But anyway, there she was sitting in an office waiting patiently for the doctor with Bell who had dragged her to the hospital for a check-up because her health had turned from bad to worse. For the past weeks, her condition had worsened and her vomiting had increased to a whole new level and her weird cravings, Mystique had no words to describe them. Her palms felt sweaty as she waited patiently and soon, the female doctor arrived with a file in hand. She smiled at them as she took her seat behind her desk in front of them, placing the file before her, she gave all her attention to her guests. "Miss Miller, what do you think is wrong with you?" she asked him while beaming.
'Do you wish to die today...?' The question still rang in Mystique's head. Why did she have to slap the man...? Traces of sweats could be seen on her forehead and her hands tremble at their side as a deadly aura could be felt around them and it was raging from none other than Damien, who looked like a monster as his eyes had turned a darker than usual and his stance was not what Mystique liked. "Has the cat caught your tongue, you seem to be rapping a few moments ago" the monster stepped forward, cornering poor Mystique against the wall again. "Answer Me...!" Damien Martinez's voice rose in fury and that was what Mystique finally snap. Her breathing took a sudden turn, heavy and brutal like she had just run a long race. Sweats ran down her forehead like water and her eyes started to water as they stared at Damien with so much twinge and adversity, her eyes pop out as her breathing went
"What...?" Mystique could barely believe her ear, was this man asking her to move in with him?, Was this a nightmare or what? because this couldn't probably be a dream. What was going through his head to make him request, no demand is the right order. What was going through his order for him to utter just words. "You heard me, you are moving in with me as soon as you are discharged" Damien spoke as he kept his tone light and calm. Mystique stared at the man, she didn't know if she should cry and be happy with the news, everything was so overwhelming. "As what exactly?" She wanted to be sure of where he stood in his life, was she just his baby mama or something more than that. Because Mystique would not live with a man for such a silly reason but it also meant she wanted a relationship with him...did she? No, Mystique shook her head, she shouldn't be thinking that. For a
