I was still on my search for the maiden I had seen in the forest. The first night I saw her, I followed her till she got to the human side but I couldn’t remember which cottage she had gone into. I went back there and waited but she never came. A few days ago, she passed again along the path but she was with another girl. I couldn’t approach them. I tried trailing after them but she kept looking in my direction, I had to abort the mission and hope that she would come again some other time and hopefully alone.

But she never returned.

My wolf was getting restless by the minute. I had been cranky with everyone and I had this strong urge to break things as my impatience got the best of me. How could I have missed my own mate? She was right in front of me and I couldn’t even trace her to her house.

“Damn!” I exclaimed throwing a shoe I was supposed to wear to the door. The evil thing opened right at that instance and whoever was on the other end, escaped by mere seconds.
