Chapter 83: Chloe Passes Out
Chloe had slept very well in Liam's arms but woke up alone. He was gone on his way to Chicago, and she would be without him for a whole week. She found her package from Kyle that had her calendar in it on the kitchen counter and wondered when she had put it there.
She ignored it, grabbing a drink of water then got washed and dressed in her yoga gear and headed out the door just as Kat pulled up. She stumbled over some black roses and did a double take. They weren't in a vase this time, and there was no card they were just scattered all over her doorstep and along the sidewalk leading to her door. She shook her head and decided to ignore them.
"Hey, Chloe!" Kat greeted as Chloe hopped into her car and they headed out of town toward the yoga studio. "You look really good today. Kinda like you slept on a cloud."

"Give her a call then put her in holding cell three." Detective Porter said with a sigh, still rubbing away whatever was eating at him with his eyes closed. Detective Brownstone nodded at Chloe and took her down the hall around the corner and sat her at a desk. Chloe recognized it as Brownstone's desk, having sat there before. Brownstone released the cuffs and nodded at the phone. Chloe went to reach for the phone then paused. While she was upset about Porter's nonsense, it was still bothering her that Monroe had actually hit someone this time."Um, I have a… a concern." Chloe started then looked up at Brownstone. She looked around the room quickly noting a couple of guys hovering over donuts and another random guy clearly sleeping with his head tilted back at a desk in the corner."No one's listening." Brownstone assured her.

Chloe woke up in a pair of Kyle's satin pajama bottoms with a matching top folded into a cloud-like king sized bed and blinked at the New York Skyline out the window. It was Christmas Eve, and she was in New York City. She smiled and stretched then got out of bed and padded to the window."Can't get enough of it, can you?" Kyle asked walking into the room."It's the perfect view of everything. The Bridge and the Empire State Building.
