Chapter 82: Chloe has a Bad Dream
What's up with hot stuff?
Chloe got a text from her best friend the next day on her way home from work. And she sighed as she checked her mirrors for the fiftieth time in the past five minutes.
She thought about calling her lawyer to see what she could do about Porter being pissed at her. Between her being on edge trying to stay out his way and on edge trying to get in Liam's way and her nightmares popping up whenever she was finally able to doze off, she wasn't getting much sleep and thought she might be seeing things.
She could have sworn the person from the bar was following her. But whenever she tried to get a better look in the mirror there was no one there. She stopped at a light and responded to Kendra.

Chloe had slept very well in Liam's arms but woke up alone. He was gone on his way to Chicago, and she would be without him for a whole week. She found her package from Kyle that had her calendar in it on the kitchen counter and wondered when she had put it there. "Give her a call then put her in holding cell three." Detective Porter said with a sigh, still rubbing away whatever was eating at him with his eyes closed. Detective Brownstone nodded at Chloe and took her down the hall around the corner and sat her at a desk. Chloe recognized it as Brownstone's desk, having sat there before. Brownstone released the cuffs and nodded at the phone. Chloe went to reach for the phone then paused. She looked around the room quickly noting a couple of guys hovering over donuts and another random guy clearly sleeping with his head tilted back at a desk in the corner."No one's listening." Chloe woke up in a pair of Kyle's satin pajama bottoms with a matching top folded into a cloud-like king sized bed and blinked at the New York Skyline out the window. It was Christmas Eve, and she was in New York City. She smiled and stretched then got out of bed and padded to the window."Can't get enough of it, can you?"
