IN BETWEEN LIFE AND DEATH

Nick’s eyes widened, there was blood all over his left hand. The bullet must have hit her just inches away from where he was holding her around the waist when he jumped. And he didn’t even feel the hit or the moisture of blood that was soaking his left hand until that moment.

“No no no......Angelina hang in there please,” Nick stuttered, trying to cover the area where the bleeding was coming from.

“Help me over here Nathe, goddamn it!” he yelled, this wasn’t supposed to happen, not to Angelina. It should have happened to him instead. This was one of the reasons he never liked working with partners, they always slow down jobs and put him in inaccessible situations.

Simon didn’t know what expression to keep on his face. He wasn’t happy, but he didn’t look too sad either. He was literally confused, why was he getting into all this mess. A drink would really go along way after all this.

He removed his leather jacket and covered Angelina’s wound, reducing the amount of blood that kept
