Chapter One hundred and Sixteen - He's close

Isabella's point of view.

Jason's phone ringing was the alarm that woke us up that morning. Jason tried to find his phone with his eyes still still firmly shut, and missed multiple times.

When I couldn't take it anymore, I found the phone myself.

"Hello," I said, a bit harshly and much more rudely than I intended, "Why are you calling my husband at..." I had to remove the phone from my ear so I could look at the time, "...six in the morning. He's asleep."

Jason's hand squeezed my thigh, "I love it when you're so dominant," He said, his voice was laced heavily with sleep.

No one said anything at the other end for a whole minute. I wondered why I didn't end the call at that point.

"Haven't you seen the news? Jason's face is literally everywhere and I'm pretty sure the police would be on his tail soon," Zade's voice was the next thing I heard, it felt like he was talking from the other side of the room, "Get out of that penthouse and run."

And then the call ended.
