Fifty-Nine

Sally's POV

"Allen, leave us. Anything you hear in here must never be said outside, understood?" His mother almost warned him.

Allen just nodded, leaving the house with a heavy sigh.

"Come here, I know you came looking for some answers." She led me to the kitchen area.

I squinted at her. "How do you know? I can come and have tea with you."

The woman laughed. "You're funny, but I could read you as soon as you got here. Plus, you're not the type to waste the evening on tea and cookies."

My face fell, I was ready to leave, but the next word convinced me to stay a while.

"I can read you, yes, but not completely. Usually, it's very easy, it doesn't matter who, even Alpha Ryan himself, I can read them like an open book. But you, you dear, are the hardest. All I get is your aura, it's dark, brooding, curious, angry, and above all cold." She pulled me to sit next to the window.

One of the things I hate in life is when people try to read me, but I'll ignore this because she's Allen's mother.
